Per-App Audio Recorder is a Windows desktop application that records the sound of the apps you choose, and optionally your microphone, into audio files on your computer. Everything is processed locally.
The microphone is used only while the "My microphone" option is on and a recording or the replay buffer is running. Windows asks for your permission the first time. Microphone audio goes into your recording files and nowhere else.
The app keeps a small technical log on your computer (in its own local data folder) with application events: start and stop of recordings, names of recorded apps and audio devices, error codes and the Windows version. It contains no audio and no file contents. It stays on your device.
If, and only if, you open "Report a problem or suggest" and press Send, the app sends the developer:
Reports are used solely to diagnose problems and improve the app, are not shared with third parties and are not used for marketing. You can ask for a submitted report to be deleted by contacting the developer.
The trial and purchase state is checked through the Microsoft Store services built into Windows, under Microsoft's privacy statement. The app receives only whether the licence is active.
Microsoft also gives the developer the usual Store reports about this app: how many people started a trial or bought it, and the countries those came from, as counts only. These come from Microsoft, not from the app, and identify nobody.
Use "Report a problem or suggest" inside the app, or the support page. Messages sent there reach the developer directly.
